St. George, Bermuda – Renowned Bermudian artist and seasoned sailor, Eldon Trimingham III, brings over four decades of artistic mastery to the world stage. From an early age, Eldon displayed his remarkable talent, discovering his passion for drawing at age eleven while attending school in England, where he began creating intricate sketches of flowers. Today, his acclaimed works grace the walls of prestigious institutions around the globe, including the Smithsonian in Washington, Buckingham Palace in London, and the Royal Air Force Headquarters.
Eldon's artistic expertise lies in fine art from the romantic era, a genre that has captivated audiences worldwide with its depth and elegance. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Eldon is an avid boatsman, collector, and adventurer, with a passion for maintaining and sailing his boats across Bermuda’s scenic coasts and international waters. His extensive sailing experience includes competing in renowned races like the America’s Cup in 1987, where he made history as the first participant with cerebral palsy.
A true testament to resilience, Eldon was born with cerebral palsy and overcame significant challenges to achieve remarkable success. He underwent an innovative medical procedure in his youth, which has since transformed the approach to cerebral palsy treatment worldwide, benefiting countless individuals. His determination has earned him accolades both on and off the water, including prestigious wins as Owner and Navigator at the 2013 World Championship and a repeat victory in 2014. Additionally, he claimed the Croquet award at the Canadian Open Championship in 2010.
Carrying forward a legacy passed down through generations, Eldon’s love for the ocean and adventure was inspired by his grandfather, Eldon H. Trimingham, and father, Eldon H. Trimingham II, further cementing his family’s enduring connection to Bermuda’s maritime heritage.
